There was a weather warning out on the day this painting was completed; the temperature was high and tornados are always a possibility.
One of the warning signs of a tornado on the prairies is a greenish, icy tinge inside a storm cloud (hence the name and icy green of the finished product).
Lots of clouds rolling by, one fantastic dragonfly and the painting of a painting, start to finish.
